Smile Design
Master the principles of smile design to create harmonious individual smiles that blend art with dental science. There are objective design elements of the smile that are consistent between individuals. The more a dentists understands these tolerances for physiologic norms that exist, the better the ability to create freedom of artistic expression. Learning the key concepts of smile design will enable the practitioner to make smiles look natural with universally accepted concepts of beauty and the power to knowingly step outside of norms to create individual works of expression.
Photography
Develop skills in photography to document cases and showcase your work with professional quality. There are no good cosmetic dentists in the world who are uncomfortable using a professional grade camera. Documenting and showcasing dentistry is a core element to communication and creating ideal results. A dentist who expresses the interest in doing more cosmetic cases must also develop a fundamental knowledge in photography. It is apparent that dentists who are striving with passion to improve upon each case will incorporate photography at a highest level to capture images of the teeth and smiles in the best lighting possible to showcase their work.
Occlusion
Performing the highest level of aesthetic dentistry requires a deeper foundation in occlusion. Learn how to properly treatment plan patients to control the occlusion for long lasting results with porcelain veneers. Once the fundamental elements of occlusion are understood, the practitioner will be able develop skills in when and how to restore patients to centric relation involving single arch smile design and dual arch cases with vertical dimension of occlusion changes.
Protocols
Learn the key concepts to ideal preparation and seamless cementation of porcelain veneer cases. Learn when to prepare teeth, where to prepare teeth and how much to prepare teeth to keep cases as minimally invasive as possible and facilitate the cementation procedure. Veneer cementation can create anxiety with doctors who have less experience delivering new smiles. Learn practical knowledge that will create comfort in cementation and get hands on experience working with models to develop the new preparation and cementation skills.
Materials
Get up to date on the most relevant materials for indirect smile design. Learn what materials will give you the most success in terms of aesthetics and get the practical knowledge necessary to choose the best ceramic materials for your patients. Understand how porcelain veneers are fabricated and how that may effect the material you choose for the specific case in your office.

Course Objectives

- Capture standardized clinical photographs for diagnostics, laboratory communication, and case documentation.
- Differentiate between veneer cases that are occlusion-safe and those requiring intervention, and apply techniques to manage occlusal risk.
- Determine appropriate preparation levels, including minimal-prep and conservative reduction approaches.
- Fabricate functional and aesthetic provisional restorations that guide the final outcome.
- Deliver porcelain veneers using a systematic protocol that ensures efficient cementation and patient satisfaction.
- Perform occlusal adjustments to protect restorations and support long-term clinical success.
- Incorporate photography and videography into clinical practice to enhance patient communication, case acceptance, and marketing.
Prerequisites
This course is designed for licensed dentists. Familiarity with basic restorative procedures and cosmetic case planning is recommended, but no prior training in porcelain veneers is required.
